Paint Strokes

From looking at some of the Illustration I have created, I feel they need more experimentation with different media. I have created a catalogue of paint strokes into a sketchbook. I am then going to try and combine some of my Illustration with the paint marks that I have created. I probable will need to take the ideas of experimentation, and use other media as well as the paint stokes. This will allow the Illustration to develop into more interesting pieces.

Production

This kind of Imagery will be better suited to tea and coffee mugs, as it is related. I think the Illustration could be stronger with the use of  type. 

This image I feel is not going to work across a ceramic range, I need to reconsider the formats of product of were it could work better. The imagery needs more, I will have to experiment and find ways in creating a more deeper line quality to create stronger Illustration.

This idea of using cutlery works well, I need to take this approach and create more from it. Creating more Illustrations of cutlery and having a breath of illustration work in this way will help me to develop this idea.

Having a look at the Illustration work that I have produced, I now need to start experimenting in the context of products they will be appropriate for. I have been doing Illustration work that is related to the kitchen environment, so now I am considering applying these to all ranges of ceramics. I feel though that the imagery that I have produced still needs a lot of work, I need to give the Imagery more interest. 

Inspiration - Chris Dent

I really love chris dents Illustration, the use of line quality in his work is something that I take inspiration from. I need look at how pen depth can allow imagery to develop, using different waits to allow more refines Illustration.

Letterpress - Occasions, Brief 6

I went down to Vernan street, to start experimenting more with letterpress. The brief is to create a typographic approch to occassion cards, so my approach was to gather as many letterform and try to create imagery from this.

This idea is to use the number to calculate an age, don't think it going to work not very interesting. I need to come up with typographic imagery using letterpress.

These Illustrations of feather work really well as they are made as a collection. I need to take this idea of collections into my image making, having a collection of certain element or object gives imagery a more substantial amount of interest.

I really like how the Illustration is exhibited through type. These ways of expressing Illustration through type are going to help my Illustration progress from being an image to a more conceptual idea.

Using collections once again of a certain thing creates more interest within an image. I need to start considering more formats in which i can present Illustration through product, as seen through this snowboard design.

Package a Dream, Brief 4 - This Brief needs to be resolved, as the type based work that has been created will be used further into my FMP. The typography is applied to poems related to dreams. This type is going to be used onto different formats of product that are relevant to the bedroom. I need to start looking at the methods and approaches that can take this type into product.

Object of Desire, Brief 2 - This brief has been a bit of a mess, my final crit before Easter showed me that the relevance of this brief was not engaging with my statement of intent. The only aspect of this brief i should take into consideration is the ideas of product catalogues. I need to just get this brief resolved and out the way so that I can focus on the more important areas of my FMP.

Final Crit - Before Easter Break.

My final crit did not go as well as I thought. I have found that some of the briefs that i have been doing have not really got me doing the kinds of work that i want to be producing. I have to regonise and re-evaluate what i am trying to achieve according to my statement of intent.

My statement of intent is using the ideas of creating products that have the essence of Illustration attached to them. I need to look at the work that i have produced, and understand were it can fit within product. Looking at the catalogue room brief the imagery could be translated into wallpapers. I need to re-evaluate the imagery that i have produced and find suitable products that can fit as resolutions.

I feel this Easter break is going to be essential and has to give my FMP direction for when I come back. I need create a lot more imagery that can be related into product. My organisation of my project needs to be direct and focused into method of approach. 

I am going to write a brief that will help me to organise and order my illustration practise to engage with my statement of intent.
